Position – Business Systems Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION: BUSINESS – SYSTEMS ANALYST

The Business – Systems Analyst is responsible for the quality of the CapAssure® platform and support of the delivery of the CapAdministration service. These responsibilities span the full lifecycle of system enhancement activity from functional definition, development process support, quality assurance and post production support. The same responsibilities apply to execution of new client on-boarding and support for ongoing configuration maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Facilitate business requirements definition and author functional and system specifications and documentation
· Perform high level and detailed data analysis of financial data from private equity clients from a variety of sources, including General Ledger systems, Excel spreadsheets, and proprietary or legacy systems
· Manage migration of data into CapAssure®
· Perform setup, configuration and validation tasks of client dedicated SaaS platform
· Respond to and successfully execute ongoing client requests for data, reports, analysis and system changes
· Develop and document a product test plan and testing strategy based on system requirements
· Create data and develop test cases to enable end-to-end verification of accounting and financial artifacts and workflows
· Record and document results from test cases and compare to expected results
· Initiate and perform systems and acceptance testing
· Document and investigate client reported software defects or issues
· Support ongoing communication between IEA and client firms
· Work with the development team to make necessary client-driven adjustments to the CapAssure® offering
· Assist the project management team with software release planning
· Develop tools or prototypes to facilitate and automate software testing from a system’s and data perspective

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will have seven to ten years of proven success in a related role, demonstrating a progression in responsibilities and possess a bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, management information systems or a closely-related degree. The candidate should possess:

· 5+ years of experience in systems analysis and quality assurance with exposure to project management
· Understanding of software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to formal system delivery and proven experience that demonstrates competence facilitating and supporting the full Systems Development Lifecycle process
· Ability to synthesize complex business concepts and relationships, mathematical algorithms and translate into system and technical specifications
· Knowledge of software testing methodologies, principles, techniques and tools spanning: functional testing, technical testing, positive / negative testing, integration testing, smoke testing, regression testing, system testing, user acceptance testing, performance testing
· Knowledge of approaches, techniques and technologies relevant for quality assurance and validation of:
• data processing / data structures
• application processing
• report processing
· Experience in data processing concepts / principals and validation techniques to ensure data integrity and data quality
· An aptitude for understanding “cause and effect”
· An ability to identify reliable systems solutions that meet client requirements
· Experience with data migration, system conversion and implementation of packaged software products
· Highly proficient with MS Excel and worksheet/analytic tools, using various mathematical and functional techniques
· Proficient with MSSQL databases and Data Integration ( ETL ) / T-SQL
· Experience with Reporting platforms (Microsoft SSRS)
· Experience with Issue Tracking Software and workflows
· Experience with Software as a Service delivery model (SaaS model)
· Experience with Test Automation
· Experience with web technologies, HTML, CSS, JavaScript a plus
· Experience with Visual Studio and .NET (C#) a plus
· Exposure to Source Control (TFS, Git, SVN as part of a team) a plus
· Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills to support communication with a wide variety of constituents including:
• business end-users of the system (non-technical)
• development personnel (technical)
• Project management and senior management personnel responsibility for oversight of initiatives
· Ability to work independently
· Ability to interact with clients, maintaining the integrity of the IEA brand at all times
